Hello Assumption Family,

This Sunday is the Sunday before the Nativity.  On this Sunday we commemorated the Holy Fathers from Adam to Joseph the betrothed of Mary the Theotokos.  This lineage through which Christ enters the world serves for us a great reminder about God’s mercy.  There are both righteous and sinners in this genealogy, but Christ still becomes perfect man. As we celebrate the birth of Christ this week, we do so with open hearts knowing he is again coming among us both righteous and sinner and we pray for His mercy to sanctify our lives!

We will be celebrating Christmas with the services listed below in the calendar section.  For those wishing to attend an evening service on the 24th, St. George in Rock Island will be celebrating Vesperal Divine Liturgy at 5pm.  Otherwise, we will have services on both the 24th and 25th in the morning as we do each year.
